Cyrus and Hemsworth’s tumultuous relationship spanned many years, including a brief engagement followed by marriage in 2018. It ended in divorce just a year later. The source emphasized that Miley didn’t hide the fact that the song was aimed at him and she finds it difficult to be pressed to discuss it now.

With the lawsuit looming, the insider noted, “It looks like Miley might have to testify in court about her motivations for the song, which is incredibly painful for her. It’s reopening wounds she thought had healed, revealing that she has more emotional work ahead of her.”

One of Cyrus’s primary concerns is the possibility of having to re-engage with Hemsworth during the legal proceedings. The source disclosed, “She’s now contemplating reaching out to Liam for a heads-up and some closure regarding that painful chapter, but Maxx isn’t supportive of this idea.”

The lawsuit against Cyrus stems from claims that ‘Flowers’ bears significant similarities to Bruno Mars’ 2013 hit ‘When I Was Your Man.’ Tempo Music Investments, which owns the rights to Mars’ song, filed the suit in a Los Angeles court. They cite striking similarities between the two tracks.
